It’s devastating to find out that someone you love has been killed in an accident. Any death that happens without warning is a shock, and it hurts even more that your loved one had his or her life cut short as a result of someone else’s negligence.
It’s hard to handle the idea that someone else was so negligent that they caused a fatal accident, but fatal accidents happen fairly often. If someone you love is in a fatal crash, it means that you and other close relatives may have the right to seek compensation for that death.
Worse than losing a loved one is knowing that someone fled the scene after hurting him or her. For instance, in a recent, tragic crash in Tennessee, three people have been charged for a fatal hit-and-run collision.
The crash took place when a 19-year-old driver struck and killed a 59-year-old man by turning into the motorcyclist’s path. The 19-year-old man has been arrested and was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident while failing to render aid.
He’s also charged with driving with a revoked license and several other violations. The owner of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, and his brother, 23, both face charges for tampering with the evidence.
Fatal crashes are devastating, and finding out that your loved one was left without help is even worse. If you feel that you want to file a claim, your attorney can help you file a wrongful death lawsuit against the person responsible for killing your loved one. Those who drive dangerously should be held accountable for their actions.
